About Fikacare
Built so that hospitals run better.
Fikacare is a hospital information system made by Fikazon for Nigerian private and mission hospitals. It is designed for the way hospitals here actually work: unreliable internet, unreliable power, busy reception desks, paper registers that must still be kept, and an owner who wants the truth every morning.

Truthful records for every Nigerian hospital, whatever the connection.
Most hospital software assumes a steady internet connection and a steady supply of power. Nigerian hospitals cannot assume either, so the record ends up on paper, the day's takings are typed into a spreadsheet at night, and the owner learns what happened a week late.
Fikacare starts from the opposite assumption. Every machine in the hospital keeps a complete, encrypted copy of what it needs, the machines talk to each other over the hospital's own network, and the cloud catches up when it can. The reception desk, the pharmacy and the cashier keep working through an outage, and the reports are right afterwards.
Fikazon builds software for Nigerian businesses. Fikacare is its product for hospitals, and it is being built alongside a working mission hospital in Ibadan so that every screen is tested against a real ward round, a real queue and a real cash count.
How it is built
Six rules we do not break.
These are the principles the system is designed around. They are the reason it can be trusted when the connection cannot.

Offline is the normal case
No screen or action on a device waits for the network. If something needs the cloud, it queues and shows its state; it never spins.

Every write is a record
Clinical entries are append-only. Corrections are new entries that point at the original, and both stay visible with author and time.

Money and stock are ledgers
Balances and quantities are always the sum of what happened. There is no editable balance anywhere in the system.

Every figure drills to its source
A number on the owner's report can be opened to the receipts, dispensings or visits that make it up, on the device and in the portal.

Nothing commercial stops care
A lapsed subscription pauses cloud services after a grace period. It never locks a device or hides a patient's record.

Your data is yours
Records are encrypted on every machine, and the hospital can export everything at any time in open formats.
How it works in a hospital
A hub, a standby and the stations.
One ordinary Windows machine in the hospital acts as the hub. A second machine stands by and takes over if the hub fails. Every other station, from reception to the pharmacy, runs the same application and keeps its own encrypted copy of the records it needs.
Stations sync with the hub over the hospital's network, with each other when the hub is down, and with the cloud when the internet is up. Reference data such as staff, tariffs and the drug catalogue comes from the cloud; clinical, stock and financial records originate in the hospital and the cloud never overrides them.
The owner and managers see the hospital in a browser portal, with a daily brief that leads with exceptions and every figure open to the records behind it.
